Carnival Radiance Returns From Victoria Dry Dock Wearing the New Bow Crest

Carnival Radiance has finished a 15-day dry dock at the Seaspan shipyard in Victoria, British Columbia, and resumed sailing from Long Beach, welcoming guests on Saturday, October 3, 2026 for an 8-night Mexican Riviera cruise to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, La Paz, and Cabo San Lucas. The ship now carries the From Sea to Shining Sea bow crest, which Carnival says will roll out fleet-wide as ships are dry docked; only Carnival Jubilee and the upcoming Carnival Tropicale get the Star of Texas crest. The Effy jewelry boutique was renewed with updated lighting and display cases, and other interior and open-deck spaces were updated. Next up is a 14-night Carnival Journeys Hawaii sailing departing Sunday, October 11, visiting Kahului, Honolulu, Nawiliwili, Hilo, and Ensenada. More Hawaii sailings follow on November 8 and 28, 2026, and January 17, February 14, March 14, and April 11, 2027.
💡 What This Means For You

If you're booked on Carnival Radiance, expect a refreshed ship: a renewed Effy jewelry boutique, updated public spaces, and the new bow crest. Hawaii-minded cruisers should check the 14-night departure on October 11, plus November 8 and 28, 2026, and January 17, February 14, March 14, and April 11, 2027. From April 25, 2027, only 3- and 4-night sailings are offered, so compare those dates before choosing a longer Mexican Riviera trip.

📝 Mark's Take

My read is that the bow crest is the real story here, and the dry dock is just the vehicle for it. Carnival's Christine Duffy framed it as proof that Carnival is America's Cruise Line, so every ship that visits a yard will get repainted with a patriotic crest, and Radiance is simply the latest after Carnival Legend and Carnival Magic. The wry twist is that Carnival Jubilee and the upcoming Carnival Tropicale get the Star of Texas instead, so even America's Cruise Line makes an exception for Texas. For guests, the practical gains are modest: a refreshed Effy boutique and updated spaces, the usual dry dock fare. What matters more is the schedule. Radiance has a run of Hawaii sailings from Long Beach, then shifts to only 3- and 4-night cruises from April 25, 2027. If I wanted the 14-night Hawaii itinerary, I would book it before that window closes rather than wait.
