Norwegian Bella Named as Final Prima Class Ship, Now Bookable From Barcelona

Norwegian Cruise Line announced on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 that bookings are open for Norwegian Bella, the sixth and final Prima class ship. The 170,000-gross ton, 3,921-guest ship will homeport in Barcelona for 7-night roundtrip Mediterranean voyages, with stops such as Salerno, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Marseille, La Spezia and Palma de Mallorca. A 5-night Malta to Barcelona sailing departs May 2, 2028, with an overnight in Malta, then Salerno and Civitavecchia. NCL has not said which sailing is the maiden voyage. Bella is being built at Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy, alongside sister ship Norwegian Aura, due in May 2027. At 1,129 feet, the pair will be the line's largest. Hull art is by Australian artist George Rose.
💡 What This Means For You

If you want Barcelona-based Mediterranean sailings, Norwegian Bella's 7-night roundtrips are now open for booking, and departure dates determine which ports you see among Salerno, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Marseille, La Spezia and Palma de Mallorca. Check the 5-night Malta to Barcelona sailing on May 2, 2028 if you want an early look at the ship. Confirm which sailing NCL eventually labels the maiden voyage before you pay for any inaugural extras.

📝 Mark's Take

My read is that NCL is capping the Prima class with a ship built to be everything at once. The Ocean Heights complex across decks 18 through 21, the 10-deck The Drop slide, a pool deck more than 15% larger than Aqua's and Luna's, and 159 Haven suites all point to a line pitching families and premium buyers on the same hull. Putting her in Barcelona on 7-night loops is a safe, proven Mediterranean formula. The odd detail is that the first guests may sail on a 5-night Malta to Barcelona trip on May 2, 2028, yet NCL has not named a maiden voyage, so the usual inaugural fuss is still up in the air. Sister ship Aura arrives in May 2027, which means Bella will not be the newest Prima for long. With a larger class already ordered for 2030 and beyond, Bella reads like a finale rather than a new direction. In your shoes, I would wait for the maiden voyage announcement before committing to a date, since the extras tend to cluster there.
