Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Still Afloat ("we," "us," or "our") is a cruise travel-advisory and content brand operated by Still Afloat LLC. This policy explains what information we collect at stillafloatcruising.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain-spoken on purpose — no fine-print games.

Information we collect

  • Newsletter sign-ups. When you subscribe, we collect the name and email address you provide so we can send the weekly newsletter.
  • Contact & advisory inquiries. When you use the contact form on the Work With Mark page, we collect your name, email address, and the details of your message so we can reply.
  • Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers automatically log standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

How we use your information

  • To send the newsletter you signed up for, and to let you unsubscribe at any time.
  • To respond to your questions and travel-advisory inquiries.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website.

Affiliate links & disclosure

Some product and gear links on this site — including on the Cruising Gear pages — are affiliate links. Still Afloat is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate networks may set their own cookies when you click those links; their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Email delivery & service providers

We use trusted third-party providers to run the site and deliver email (for example, our website hosting, database, and email-delivery services). These providers process data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Cookies

We aim to keep cookies to a minimum and use them only for essential site functionality. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on our own pages. Note that embedded content (such as YouTube videos or live webcams) and affiliate links may set cookies controlled by those third parties.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
  • Access or delete your data. You can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, or to delete it, by contacting us through the form on the Work With Mark page.

Data retention

We keep newsletter and contact information only as long as needed for the purpose it was provided — for as long as you remain subscribed, or until you ask us to remove it. Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults planning travel and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Links to other sites

Our pages link to external sites (cruise lines, retailers, YouTube, webcam providers, and others). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites; we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
