Carnival Unveils 'The Next Course' Dining Program, But New Restaurants Wait Until Festivale's 2027 Debut
If you're sailing on Carnival now, none of the new specialty restaurants — Uku Lei Lei, Le Bistro Musicale, Emeril's Coastal Seafood or Fetaccine — will be available until Carnival Festivale debuts in May 2027, or on sister ship Tropicale in 2028. My read: Carnival is using its newest ship, Festivale, as the showcase for a culinary overhaul rather than retrofitting the whole fleet at once — a smart way to generate two years of pre-launch buzz for a ship that doesn't sail until May 2027. Christine Duffy's line about a "bold step forward" for "vibrant flavors fleetwide" is doing a lot of work, since fleetwide right now really just means refreshed menus, Bagels At Sea and Express Dining — the flashy new restaurants are locked to Festivale and, later, Tropicale in 2028. Winners are future Festivale cruisers who get Emeril's Coastal Seafood and a French bistro with an upcharge; everyone else gets incremental menu tweaks in the meantime. I'd hold off getting excited unless you're already eyeing a 2027 Festivale booking, and I'd watch for whether Carnival extends these concepts fleetwide before assuming your next sailing benefits.
